Bright white kitchens are losing some of their appeal. In their place, warmer shades inspired by soil, leaves and natural materials are gaining ground. The 2027 kitchen color trends reflect this change, with paint companies favouring earthy greens, muted blues and deeper browns.

The announcements began in August 2026, when Valspar revealed its pick. Benjamin Moore followed on October 14, 2026. Pantone has yet to announce its 2027 color, usually a December event.

Here are some 2027 Kitchen Color Trends Which You Follow

Green Is the Color of 2027

Green has become a common choice among major paint brands this year. The shades range from light yellow-green to dark, smoky tones. Dulux in the UK has also joined the trend with its pale green pick, Soulful Sage.

Sherwin-Williams and HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams announced Celery SW 6421 on September 15, 2026. It is their joint Color of the Year, marking the second year of this partnership. Their 2026 choice was Universal Khaki. Celery is an airy yellow-green that the brand describes as a “tinted neutral.” Look closely and it carries hints of khaki, butter yellow and sage. Its light tone works across full cabinet runs or kitchen walls.

Grounded, Behr

Behr introduced Grounded T27-01 on August 26, 2026. The company created this olive and moss-inspired shade specifically for its 2027 selection. Subtle brown undertones give it warmth and keep the green from looking too bright. The announcement also marks the 10th anniversary of Behr’s Color of the Year program.

Webster Green, Benjamin Moore

Benjamin Moore went darker with Webster Green HC-130, announced on October 14, 2026. The deep, smoky shade comes from the company’s Historical Color Collection, which turns 50 this year. It anchors an eight-shade Color Trends 2027 palette. On kitchen cabinets, Webster Green suits those who prefer a moody, heritage-inspired look over pale, cheerful greens.

Smoky Blues and Blue-Grays

Blue takes a quieter turn in the 2027 kitchen color trends. Valspar opened the annual announcements in August 2026 with Cottage Door 8004-38E, a mid-tone grayed blue with both warm and cool undertones. The brand describes it as a lived-in shade.

Pittsburgh Paints and Glidden chose the same color, Artifact PPG10-16, on September 14, 2026. Their pick is a warm, smoky blue intended to refresh a room without demanding a full renovation. Both shades make sense on lower cabinets or kitchen islands, where muted blue sits comfortably beside natural wood.

Brown Goes Dark and Rich

A cup of espresso is the obvious comparison for Dunn-Edwards’ 2027 Color of the Year, French Press Coffee DEBN07. The deep brown carries a subtle plum undertone, which becomes easier to spot as daylight shifts. For a kitchen, the brand recommends pairing it with walnut, aged brass, honed marble, linen, earthy greens, clay tones and soft creams. It also points to Wilderness (DE6236), its moss green, as a cabinetry option. The plum note ties into the wider interest in aubergine and purple-browns.

Warm Earth Tones: Terracotta and Dusty Pink

Deep Rooted 311-7DB brings a terracotta-like orange into Dutch Boy Paints’ 2027 collection. Announced in late August 2026, the shade comes with three palettes. One of them, Essence, matches it with Antique White and Western Orange. Menards sells the paint. A kitchen island or accent wall would give this warm orange room to stand out, especially beside wood and soft neutrals.

A softer alternative comes from Graham & Brown. Its Rose Earth is an earthy, dusty pink that works easily with other shades.

Conclusion

Paint trends have a strange sense of humour. They bring back old favourites and make homeowners feel fashionable for keeping things unchanged. Celery was a popular kitchen paint choice in the 2000s, and some people online have joked about already having painted their kitchens that shade years ago.

Now it has returned with a fresh announcement and a 2027 label. Those who never bothered to repaint might have the last laugh. Their old kitchens are suddenly back in style, and their wallets can remain firmly shut.
