The Importance of Obedience in Christianity

274 Views

“Blessed is the man

who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,

nor stands in the way of sinners,

nor sits in the seat of scoffers;

but his delight is in the law of the LORD,

and on his law he meditates day and night.”

Psalm 1:1-2

A Christian’s behavior and heart reflect Jesus Christ. As believers, we are obligated to follow the teachings of God, not just for the sake of following them. It goes deeper than that. If we read through the Bible and apply the various pieces of wisdom in our lives, we shall find the fruits of our labor ripen. The flowers of happiness will blossom as we continue on our journey…

…as long as we’re obedient, that is.

We are Christians but stray from our purpose through life’s distractions. Little by little, with every act of unkindness toward our neighbor, indulgence, and malpractice, we become ignorant of God’s teachings. We rely on our understanding instead of fully submitting to the Father and what He wants from us. The result? We bear the burden of our repercussions alone. We spiral into a pit of overthinking, regret, anxiety, and depression.

As it is said, “His delight is in the law of the LORD.”

God has given us the Book of Life, filled with beautiful parables and insights that can change our lives overnight and save us from the inevitable fire.

When we become obedient, we are renewed. We are transformed into His very image from glory to glory.

The time edges closer when we, the bride of Christ, will be due to be taken away with Him to the Supper of the Lamb. And Jesus does not want a disobedient bride but one radiant and mature.

Author Judith Lyon Kesselman presents a book that will help you enhance your knowledge and wisdom, permitting the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. The Bride Made Ready is the New Covenant perspective for keeping the Feasts of the Lord. Kesselman teaches us how keeping these feasts is more than acknowledging and receiving Jesus’ redemptive work on the cross for the salvation of our spirit. It was in the 1990s when the Lord called Judith to pray in the sanctuary of the congregation she attended. It began with several months of weeping in Identification Repentance when her mission truly began. Through worship and obedience, God called Judith to write this book, a message that will stick with you for the rest of your life.

The marriage is going to happen. The only question is, will you be ready?
