Exhibitions and tradeshows are times when business exhibits their businesses to gain increased business. Companies that are new in the market or the start-ups or the small and medium-sized companies find this as an opportunity to spread awareness about their brands and business to the world. Their motive is to reach out to their target audience at different places around the world. And this is very natural with every exhibitor in the tradeshows and exhibitions. Their main objective is attracting prospects to their business. The whole idea of exhibition stands is grabbing the attention of the onlookers, business prospects and potential customers and partners. The reason, that you will have to be very careful while building your exhibition stands, which should not spoil your event marketing goals.

Here are 5 mistakes that exhibitors knowingly or unknowingly do that can damage a perfect exhibition stand design plan, but should be avoided:

  1. Last-Minute Booking

Most of the exhibitors do this mistake. They plan late and book their stand space very late. In such a situation they are forced to book spaces that are not ideal for proper exhibitions. From here the mistakes start. However hard you try and whatever money you invest, if your stand is not located in the right places, then all your plans would go wastes. To avoid this, always book your space early. Last-minute booking will lead to a disastrous start.

  • Not Serious About Material Quality

This is a very crucial factor though most of the time exhibitors behave casually. They are so engrossed in other things, that they do not give much attention to the quality of materials used. You might have hired an experienced stand designer and may also have invested a good amount but by any chance you forget to focus on the quality of materials used to erect your stand, all your investment and efforts will be wasted. Materials used to build exhibitions are equally important. Slight negligence can impact you badly.

You are not the only one exhibiting in an exhibition. Thousands like you would exhibit and they too are searching for professional stand designers. So, if you are late in searching, then you may not get a professional designer to design your stand and you will have to satisfy with somebody whom you may not like. So, do not create this situation. To avoid this situation, start searching early. If you start searching early, you will not only get the right people to build your stand, you also get better price deals.

  • Untrained Staff at the Booth

This is again a major mistake that exhibitors tend to do. They think, the person in the stand only has to stand and talk to people, which can be done by anyone, which is a wrong assumption. Unless the representative managing your booth manages it adequately, you won’t succeed in your event marketing goals. The person should have good communication skills, should be friendly, should have complete knowledge about your business and products/services, is a go-getter, should be presentable and possess persuading quality. Not shy, introvert, arrogant, with no basic understanding of business, lazy, and dull. Please train your staff for the purpose beforehand.

  • Hire an Inexperienced Exhibition Company

Many exhibitors hire inexperienced exhibition stand designers and the aim is to save money. Though you might be able to save a little money, however, in the end, all your investment will be useless. Somebody who is not experienced in the stand building and designing may not be able to give you a quality service. Simply avoid this. Do not compromise on quality. A professional stand designer will never charge you extra money rather all their costs are very reasonable and they will assure you quality. On the contrary, if you hire unskilled people, you will find you have ended up spending more and that too without any assurance of return on investment.
