After I got PMBOK, the same day home to turn over again, see the first time is very fast, very quickly can turn over, because do not understand. Under the recommendation of a friend, I bought a project management kind of book, mainly want to understand what project management, in the end, is about. The book is very easy to understand, and I can understand it without any project management background. It is also structured following PMBOK.
After reading this book, I gradually have a little sense of project management, but I still don’t know what I’m talking about when I read PMBOK. Think about it at that time, or wait for the class teacher to explain it. Personal feeling PMBOK is more like a dictionary of project management knowledge, in the premise of no one to explain to read through, basically no feeling. So remember to be under the guidance of a teacher and read it again to roughly grasp the context of it.
Listening to The Teacher
If there is no serious preview in the early stage of the class, the problem is not very big, because there is no basis, preview can not play a very good effect. But you must pay attention in class. Our school day is six days over three weekends. These four days are very critical. On the first day, the teacher will repeat more than 600 pages of the PMBOK system. The next five days are intensive lectures. The 6-day course was very wonderful. I almost didn’t wander and followed the teacher’s explanation with high efficiency. After 6 days, I had a systematic understanding of the knowledge system of project management and a clear understanding of the whole framework.
Doing Exercises
For each chapter of PMBOK, SPOTO will have special simulation questions, and there are very detailed answers. For each question, explain why one of the answers is true and why the others are false. When I did the question, I found that I had learned so much about project management, but I still couldn’t answer it. In the process of doing the problem, encountered questions, to look for PMBOK corresponding knowledge points. By doing problems, we can deepen our understanding of project management knowledge and master some knowledge that the teacher did not mention in class.
Tips: it is suggested that every day after going home from work to do a chapter of the title, and in the process of doing questions to review PMBOK knowledge points promptly.
Pay Attention to the Model Examination
At the end of the six-day course, there will be three mock exams. Participating in the simulation test must be taken seriously because this is not only a summary of their learning stage but also a practical exercise to adapt to the formal exam in advance. The PMP exam lasts four hours from 9 am to 1 PM, so taking the mock exam is a rare opportunity to practice. In general, a score of 115 is required for one module, 125 for two modules, and 135 for three modules. But the result is not the purpose, according to the simulation of the test to do the situation to make up for knowledge is the main purpose. After each test, carefully summarize, check the missing, to continue to improve.
The PMP is full of multiple-choice questions, 200 multiple-choice questions in total. In the case of multiple-choice questions, you can easily eliminate two of the choices, but the remaining two choices are difficult to eliminate and often leave you in a dilemma. At this time, you need to analyze seriously, pay close attention to the problem eye, in-depth understanding of the problem stem. In addition, the translation of PMP titles can sometimes be confusing. At this time it is best to look at the English question stem to understand the meaning of the question. Sometimes, the American way of thinking is different from the Chinese way of thinking. If you follow the Chinese way of thinking, it is easy to do wrong. You need to do it the American way of thinking.
Tips: There is a student who did not get more than 100 points in the first, second, and third models, but finally passed the PMP exam, so there is no need to pay too much attention to the result of the model exam.
